2022年7月5日，备受瞩目的菲尔兹奖（Fields Medal）在芬兰赫尔辛基阿尔托大学举行的国际数学联盟颁奖典礼（IMU Award Ceremony 2022）上揭晓，获奖者为日内瓦大学/法国高等科学研究所教授Hugo Duminil-Copin、美国普林斯顿大学教授June Huh、英国牛津大学教授James Maynard、瑞士洛桑联邦理工学院教授Maryna Viazovska。4名获奖者对数学领域（概率论、代数几何与组合学、解析数论等）做出了重要贡献。

菲尔兹奖于1932年设立，1936年首次颁发，以加拿大数学家约翰·查尔斯·菲尔兹(John Charles Fields, 1863-1932)的名字命名，有着“数学界的诺贝尔奖”之称，是国际上最重要的数学奖之一，每四年在国际数学家大会上颁发一次，以表彰当下的杰出数学成就和有迹象在未来获得成功的重要成果。获奖者必须是未满40岁的青年数学家。尽管菲尔兹奖表彰的是数学家在职业生涯早期阶段获得的杰出成就，但其也被视为数学家未来发展的一项重要指标。华裔数学家丘成桐和陶哲轩分别于1982年、2006年获奖。

Hugo Duminil-Copin，法国籍，1985年生，现任职于瑞士日内瓦大学及法国高等科学研究所（IHES），方向是概率论。

他因“解决了统计物理学中相变概率理论中长期存在的问题，尤其是在三维和四维方面”,而获得殊荣。

For solving longstanding problems in the probabilistic theory of phase transitions in statistical physics, especially in dimensions three and four.

June Huh，美国籍（韩裔），1983年生，现任职于普林斯顿大学，方向是代数几何与组合学。

他因“将霍奇理论的思想引入组合数学，证明了几何格的Dowling–Wilson的猜想，证明了拟阵的Heron–Rota–Welsh猜想，发展了洛伦兹多项式理论，以及证明了强梅森猜想”而获得殊荣。

For bringing the ideas of Hodge theory to combinatorics, the proof of the Dowling–Wilson conjecture for geometric lattices, the proof of the Heron–Rota–Welsh conjecture for matroids, the development of the theory of Lorentzian polynomials, and the proof of the strong Mason conjecture.

James Maynard，英国籍，1987年生，现任职于牛津大学，方向是解析数论。

他因“对解析数论的贡献，使得在理解素数结构和丢番图逼近方面取得了重大进展”而获得殊荣。

For contributions to analytic number theory, which have led to major advances in the understanding of the structure of prime numbers and in Diophantine approximation.

Maryna Viazovska，乌克兰籍，1984年生，现任职于瑞士洛桑联邦理工学院，方向是组合学，她也是目前为止第二位获得菲尔兹奖的女性数学家。

她因“证明了在8维空间中E₈晶格提供了等球最密堆积，并对傅里叶分析中的相关极值问题和插值问题做出了进一步的贡献”而获得殊荣。

For the proof that the E₈ lattice provides the densest packing of identical spheres in 8 dimensions, and further contributions to related extremal problems and interpolation problems in Fourier analysis.

此外，颁奖会现场也为获得国际数学联盟算盘奖（IMU Abacus Medal，原名是Rolf Nevanlinna Prize）、陈省身奖（Chern Medal Award）、 高斯奖（Carl Friedrich Gauss Prize）和莉拉瓦蒂奖（Leelavati Prize）的获奖者进行了颁奖。颁奖典礼同步在IMU的YouTube和Facebook页面直播。

国际数学联盟算盘奖，奖励在信息科学的数学方面做出杰出贡献的科学家。2022年得主是普林斯顿大学教授Mark Braverman。

陈省身奖，是数学家的终身成就奖，2022年得主是哈佛大学教授Barry Mazur。

他因“在拓扑、算术几何和数论领域的深刻发现，以及他在培养下一代数学家方面的领导力和慷慨无私”而获得殊荣。

For his profound discoveries in topology, arithmetic geometry and number theory, and his leadership and generosity in forming the next generation of Mathematicians.
